Did Dallape make any limited production units or custom units on a private commission? On line under "Dallape for sale" there is a listing "Dallape Supermaestro accordion SN 12". J have seen photos of hundreds of Dallape units including SN's 7 & 11. These units share the "waterfall" grill that Dallape used through the 60's. However, SN 12, built in the mid-late 50's does not share the "waterfall" grill so what makes this unit so unique/special? Quite a "formal" looking design. Any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated.

A picture may help, but identification may still be near impossible... how can anyone outside the company know any custom work they may or may not have done.

It's unfortunate that they are no longer in business, they had a fine product!

say you are a fairly good repair technician, and you typically
pick up thoroughly trashed high end instruments and fix them
up pretty good, especially power-buffing them .. now they are worth
a couple/few thousand dollars on their best day

by comparison, if you are a great bull-shitter you can double the
price and triple your profit with words, because it is after all
very easy to spin a good yarn and do a lot of name dropping
and suggest all the things collectors WANT to hear on the internet..

but any used accordion that expensive must be evaluated in person
unless you have money to burn

Do you have any photos to show us ............
I only know the expression used like "Water fall" which is a flashy technique that players of 3 and 4 manual wurlitzer theatre organ used to do
during their performances running up and down the keyboard with both hands at the same time .......

Also very wise words from Ventura ...........................buyer beware !!
