I've been wanting to get an accordion for a while now and just acquired a Hohner Mignon 1 (black colouring). The things a little beat up as a few of the piano keys croak or flutter their notes. Would playing be advised agaisnt until its properly checked out and or repaired.

I'm in the Ottawa (ON) area. I dont know where to get this repaired at, as I've read that the Mignon 1 is harder to repair.

and Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I wasnt sure where to post this.

Welcome TC!πŸ™‚
While waiting for a response, your could post some pictures of your instrument showing both the inside and the outside, you'll be more likely to spark a response that way πŸ™‚

Welcome Thunder! Don't worry (be happy)... Just play the heck out of it, if it needs work anyways I doubt you'll hurt it more by playing it. Like 99.999% of the citizens on this forum you'll either like playing cordeen or not. If you do, you'll want to upgrade anyway. If you don't you'll have wasted your time getting it fixed.

So, play it and if you're so inclined (you will be), fix it yourself with the help of the knowledgeable and not so on this forum.

Alrighty, I'm not sure how to get more inside and such, nor do I want to deconstruct something I wont be able to reconstruct. And Apologies for the Bad photos my phone sucks for that.
All the keys seem to move properly and such and sounds like an issue further in.

Welcome! I don’t think playing it will cause further damage. The reed valves are probably not working correctly. This happens as the leather drys out. Hopefully that is the only problem as it could also be masking issues with the reeds themselves. Reconditioning even a simple accordion like this can be time/labor intensive and can make it more expensive than the instrument will be worth repaired. If you get an estimate think about it carefully and don’t be a victim of the sunk cost fallacy.
