Hi all.
Im currently playing 2 diferent accordions. And im cought by the fact that the low bass notes on my Brandoni has a much clearer and defined sound, than my Hohner Concierto, that is the same low, but a kind of fluffy. (Do i explain myself?)

What makes the diference? The size or the qualety of the reeds?

Thsnx in advance.
Karl.

Sorry but you did not make yourself very clear. (Sound samples may help?)
One possibility I can think of is that the Brandoni may have a 5 voice bass, thus adding a bit of "high" to the bass sound, whereas the Hohner likely has just a 4 voice bass. Also, The Brandoni likely has the octave jump at a different note in the middle/high reed banks than in the low octaves, thereby doing a better job at hiding the octave jump than the Hohner which likely has the octave jump at the same note in all banks.
Reed quality makes a difference but we don't know what reeds either of these accordions has.

Hohner Concerto has low quality reeds. That's why I upgraded them with italian reeds (But I had to modify the reedblock for the low end reeds) and now the response is great!
