difference between 940 and 1320

Can anyone tell me the difference between an Excelsior 940, and an Excelsior 1320 ?
I understand, they are both four treble reeds, and both are chambered.

older ones. The 1320 has a midivox 111 unit in it, so thats a few years ago. I have found that the old midivox units are almost indestructible . I have two Excelsior Symphony model accordions...one is dry tuned, one is musette tuned. They are both acoustic. I am thinking to replace my midi equipped Victoria with the Excelsior.

during that period of CEMEX the 9xx series was the professional line,
and the 1320 was part of the EXPORT line (big difference)

a stock 1320 midivox retailed for less than $1999.00 in New York

they could be special ordered with higher options.. some teaching
studios that carried the export line for their students had better
reeds and such in the models the teachers used, but in general
they had dural level Excelsior reeds, and often were labeled excelsiola

they are solid accordions, but not top of the line and if you open
a 940 and a 1320 up side by side you would see the difference
as well as how it squeezes compared to your Symphony

My symphony takes almost no air to make the reeds work. And in a group situation, like our regular Sat. Dance evening, I don’t even bother with an amp. There’s six instruments including electric guitars and bass. It has no problem keeping up. For polkas, it just screams when I need it to. Absolutely super box.
