Don’t spose any of you guys know of a concertina that plays like a accordion

A concertina that plays like an accordion, thats the trick.

Theres at least five concertina format/styles, and some are rarer than others. All differ from most accordions because they dont have chord buttons, stretching individual notes over both hands.

Unless you play chromatic button accordion and can find a similar chromatic-keyboard bandoneon, then a lot of accordion-players skills wont be transferable to any of the concertinas.

Those new bandoneons are of course spendy in the $4-10,000 range?
(Im sort of guessing, they dont post prices, I guess if Im serious I can afford it.)

Most common in the North America might be older Chemnitzer concertinas.
I got a broken one for several hundred dollars.

Price for a good new Chemnitzer?
Maybe $9,000 http://ciceroconcertina.weebly.com/chemnitzer-faq.html

The other concertina types are the small usually hexagon shaped ones, with various fingering patterns, none like any accordion.

I wouldn't mind trying a Chemnitzer and figuring it out and seeing what songs can be played on it. Good ones typically sell for $800 or more around here. A person might get some gigs with a Chemnitzer that he wouldn't get with a PA.

Hmm, brand-new Jet chemnitzer on Ebay at Melrose, Minnesota, made in Italy in the same place as Stradivarius, for $650 plus shipping.
