As always the "law of diminishing returns" applies. The highest-end accordions easily cost 50% more than the other high-end accordions, which again cost 50% more than the very good workhorses just below that... (And of course the price at bugari.de is a list price which is set extra high so that dealers can pretend to be giving large discounts.Whew. I see an Omnia bayan in mere black celluloid priced just under 29,000 euro, at bugari.de.
@petch and I both played this instrument in the Bugari showroom. A definite 'objet d'art' which would suit the ambassadors collection or more likely a retired dentist or city lawyer as their 'beginner' instrument!Ambassador, with this Bugari Bayan Omnia Opera Maplewood "beige" edition, you are really spoiling us!
Ah yes, when money is of no concern...@petch and I both played this instrument in the Bugari showroom. A definite 'objet d'art' which would suit the ambassadors collection or more likely a retired dentist or city lawyer as their 'beginner' instrument!
I am seeing that bar to activate Free Bass, and with a name like Bayan Omnia Opera and had better sound good... but I am definitely not getting any Bayan vibes from the samples that I have heard so far, just the solid clear and clean high quality accordion (that is obviously gorgeous!).
I really like Bugari, they are at the forefront of the game in many ways compared to about anyone else today, but they need to be a bit more careful about falling in to the name game or deliver what they are advertising!
It's not so much the PA side that could make or break it as a PA but the sound of the bass. A Bayan is defined as having deep powerful bass... I've not heard anything of the sort, just good old standard Stradella and FB tones that would come on any other Bugari accordion. But you're right, their product text is confusing. The FB post says "Opera line," but goes on to describe "Our incredible masterpiece BAYAN OMNIA OPERA,". with photos of . . . a PA.
Bayan is the latinised version of the Rus word for accordion.
We may be misusing the word to describe a particular kind of accordion.
I would not be sure either, but I wonder even if 0.00001% of all accordion players would-wide would be able to tell you by sound what reed manufacturer's reeds are installed without looking at the cheat sheet or the reeds... haha!I was thinking about this model, not sure if it’s better with the new Bluestar reeds or Binci, Voci, Artigiana, etc.
