When you play a single (base) note it includes lower reeds than when you play chords. So if the chord sounds fine the problem is with the reeds that only play in the base notes. If its really bad with all base notes then maybe that reed block isnt positioned correctly or the register slider is only part way open.

well as for register theres only 2 reed blocks. which one
is the block for single bass notes?

the reed condition look fine but honestly what do I know.
I will take a picture and see what you guys think.

The reeds that are only playing on the base notes are the largest reeds. They should be all on the same side of one of the two blocks.

More likely both sides of one of the two blocks.

Indeed. That is more likely. Maybe pictures will help us to go further than pure speculation what the problem could be...

Actually, I'd favor a video showing both pressed buttons and resulting sound. Before we know what "sounds like crap" even means, this is mostly idle speculation.

I you identify your make and model of box, I'll try to tell you what bass reeds are sounding when you press a bass button . In almost all cases the bass reed you have trouble with it has a leather (valve) problem.

I had a look at the reeds and it turns out
they was backwards C still sounds a bit
iffy but everything else fine so far thanks
for your time.

See! I predicted a wrongly positioned reed block as the potential problem.
When all reeds sound wrong it is likely something with the reed block. A whole row of notes does not suddenly go wildly out of tune!
