The Akkordeon Café is an open stage in the city of Dortmund/Germany where accordionists play for accordion friends, where friends of the harmonica meet.
Musicians, accordionists, harmonica players, mouth organ artists, soloists, duos and trios, band with accordion, orchestras and music students are performing on our stage.
Supported by our professional PA and light show or as in acoustic show they meet and enjoy an accordion enthusiastic audience.
No entrance fee is to be paid by the listeners and (sorry to say) no salary for the musicians.

Nice videos, great project - I wish I was in Dortmund and I would hang out there all the time.

The great project goes on:
2016 was a successful year , we had with great accordionists on our stage, a harmonica orchestra in September and a Roland V-Accordion and Drums performance in December

The reed goes on
We are starting with
Jordan Djevic und Marcel Cestari - Balkan music, Jazz and electronic loops
on Febr 6, 2017 at 7 p.m.
We proudly present live and 2nd time on our stage:
Jordan Djevic and Marcel Cestari
The accordeonist Jordan Djević and the guitar player Marcel Cestari will present their current program. Enjoy an extraordinary synthesis between the accordion of Jordan accompanied by a loop
station using distortion and wha-wha effects in combination with the virtuously played finger style guitar of Marcel.
Their compositions, influenced by jazz, rock and balkan folk express their particular view on world music.
If you are looking for modern world sounds - meet us at the Akkordeon Cafe on Febr 6, 2017!

Great stuff mambo. Love all the different styles of playing and Dortmunder Bier is great as well.

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a good programme of events.

Might be really useful if we had a page on the forum dedicated to up-coming accordion events around the world.

What a good idea! Do you think this could be set up? That way people that organize events or people that know of events could have a place to post info and maybe pics and videos of past events and list upcoming events. The best part is that they are all in one easy to access section! :)

Thats what this Events section is for.

Hi Knobby. I was thinking more of a "sticky page" (or whatever they are called ) where events can be listed in chronological order. That way the reader can scan for what's coming next etc.

Hi Glenn
if you hink a world accordion map could be a good idea:

Just for fun I ´ve created a world accordion map to visualize the locations of Accordion museums on a Google map. Then I published it on FB and completed the map.

https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewe...ll=51.353540753609444,-42.556629749999956&z=3[/url]

There are 2 levels up to now:
1. Accordion museums, also bandonium and concertinas
2. Periodical accordion events

I don´t want to add a 3rd level for accordion orchestras /bands, because there are too much. There is just one exception: The Kringen Accordeon Band in North Dakota, because Linda, a member of the band, was the first who asked for an Accordion Orchestra Level.
Adding Accordion repair services could be helpful or a different level for manufacturers, too.

Best regards
