To be honest John, I haven’t played it and don’t even remember where I found it. Picked it up in some used place just because it was accordion.Wow Tom -- You must have some old records. That's a 78 RPM record. Have you played it?
Any 78's I had were very "scratchy" sounding and the audio wasn't very good.
Yup! That’s one I played every time last summer. On the back burner this year because I want to play different music but it’s a good one. That was nice. You can hear his Hammond Solovox on this waltz. He used the Solovox a lot when he played a waltz. His most famous one was the "Blue Skirt Waltz".
Hello John M Thank you so much for also sharing your copy ! I'm spoilt for choice.Over The Waves is in the "Sedlon Accordion Method", Book 2-A. The copyright is 1939.
The earliest book I have by Yankovic is copyright 1946.
Edit: I guess I overlooked that I had the Accordion Man Waltz. It is in Yankovic's Volume 4. This original is in the attached file. The melody is identical to the post by Pipemajor with the addition of the Bass part. There are a few bass/counterbass measures that add a bit.
You beat me to the punch. I have the same Volume 4 as well as 1, 2, 3. This is what I used for my You Tube recording which is in another post. But here it is:Over The Waves is in the "Sedlon Accordion Method", Book 2-A. The copyright is 1939.
