I hear I’m not supposed to post replies in the contest thread so I wanted to share my version of the Accordion Man. 😉

Wow Tom -- You must have some old records. That's a 78 RPM record. Have you played it?
Any 78's I had were very "scratchy" sounding and the audio wasn't very good.

To be honest John, I haven’t played it and don’t even remember where I found it. Picked it up in some used place just because it was accordion.

That was nice. You can hear his Hammond Solovox on this waltz. He used the Solovox a lot when he played a waltz. His most famous one was the "Blue Skirt Waltz".
Yup! That’s one I played every time last summer. On the back burner this year because I want to play different music but it’s a good one.

The Accordion Man Waltz ..................does any one have a copy of the sheet music ...never heard it before ,
or know of a site that has it for sale ?

I do not wish to infringe any copyright or even start the ball rolling as a copy right discussion topic !!

many thanks............Best Regards

PS it is a nice Waltz and thanks for bringing it to my attention

Hi folks .....just found the sheet music on "sheet music Direct " Well it certainly surprised me i never expected to find it available

Hello Pipemajor , thank you so much for sharing the sheet music it is very kind of you and most appreciated .
Once again many thanks ...................Giovanni

Yes, thanks so much. I have many Yankovic accordion tunes in books and sheet music. I didn't have this one. It is really nice. Besides the melody, the use of Thirds and Sixths in this arrangement, really adds a lot to the sound.

The second part is almost the same as Over the Waves. I wonder which came first?

Over The Waves is in the "Sedlon Accordion Method", Book 2-A. The copyright is 1939.
The earliest book I have by Yankovic is copyright 1946.

Edit: I guess I overlooked that I had the Accordion Man Waltz. It is in Yankovic's Volume 4. This original is in the attached file. The melody is identical to the post by Pipemajor with the addition of the Bass part. There are a few bass/counterbass measures that add a bit.

You beat me to the punch. I have the same Volume 4 as well as 1, 2, 3. This is what I used for my You Tube recording which is in another post. But here it is:

Might have to try this one….. George’s rendition is great as usual, but it does sound like ol’ Frankie took a mashup of the Blue Skirt and Over the Waves.
