I have not owned these accordions, but I do like the 950.

Maybe the best and highest specification compact (36 key) accordion I have seen. It's a mini AM1100 - nuff said.

For various reasons I prefer the celluloid finish of the AM950 to the wooden Compatto Pro.

The compactness of the 950 is sure attractive, Although that word jazz makes me nervous, since I am lousy at jazz. I like the celluloid finish better too, than the wooden look of the compatto.

Might be worth trying out, if possible. It's an accordion that a person could play a variety of music on, including folk, popular, jazz or other light music. I like the sound of it. It is not a jazz accordion though - you would really need 41 keys or more for serious jazz.

It's okay to be lousy at jazz - almost everyone else is too, me included. That wouldn't stop me considering an AM950 - as long as it has the range of notes you require for your music and it is comfortable to play.
