I often wonder how many variations on the basic accordion design have been produced. There is certainly no other instrument extant with variations as numerous. And I don't mean bigger or smaller, but rather, CBA, PA, DBA, The "Flutter Box" demonstrated, the "Fake Piano CBA" and on and on. A drum is pretty much always a drum....same with a guitar....but accordions?....I wonder if Helmi knows. I've gotta go there! Look out Tom!

Check this one out. A bit pretentious, but I like the short Accordion/Clarinet bit. The two instruments go well together (plus the clarinet is my "second (ignored) instrument).

6-7 hours is about how far I'd need to travel to visit either Keith Anderson or the accordion museum, both I did almost on a whim in the past, but then again I enjoy traveling.

The World of Accordions is also on my bucket list, probably once some of the political BS eases down between the USA/Canada borders, I'd like to make that trip.

I have a regular accordion in my shop right now that has the "Flutter" reed. You can hear how it is used in the music piece "A shot in the dark" by Henry Mancini.
