I can respect the whole copyright thing, but once it goes in to the realm of the ridiculous, that's just laughable. There are companies out there now that hire tons of people to sit and create "listening algorithms" and all they do is scan YouTube all day long looking for people they can "charge" money from to steal their monetization fees from. I have several copyright hits on my channel, but they are wasting their efforts on me, I won't monetize my channel EVER, because what I place there I want it to be for free as my way of giving back to the community.
Since I make no money from YouTube, I'm simply not bothered by anyone directly. I've been asked to monetize many times, but why, less than 2% would come to me, and 98% and more would go to some company that bought out the rights to some song or writer. Not worth the effort. Keep it fun and keep it free, and they cannot touch you.
Then I move to a platform that no one except me has control of... my own server. I simply do not care to play that game. I offer what I offer without cost or expectations and if one person likes it, cool... if only one person sees it and it helps them or puts a smile on their face... my job is done. In that sense, I am YouTube's and copyright people's worst nightmare, the low hanging fruit that is untouchable... lolYouTube thought of people like you and updated its Terms - as of June 1st, 2021:
"YouTube’s right to monetize: YouTube has the right to monetize all content on the platform and ads may appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program."
All videos that are marked for copyright will automatically inherit the Youtube licence. You are not safe!
The only option is to move away from YT entirely (and in time, the same will happen on the other platform)
That was not the problem. I don't want to discuss why, because most people will not understand. In short, it was something like government critique but I don't want to discuss here. I want simply upload accordion stuff here.If the copyright owner of the material submits a request to YouTube, they will honor it and remove the material. Popular recent work like “Worms” and “Avatar” are likely still under copyright.
