Plain or Ribbed ?

Hiya,
I've got a bellows that needs corners and new tape, but I've never tried the ribbed / ribbon type tape.

So I'm wondering what it looks like finished, and do you need to do anything particular when applying it or is it just like plain tape for application ?

Am I right in thinking it's similar to what Paul used on a Crucianelli in the first reply on this thread: https://www.accordionists.info/threads/bellows-patterns.6124/

I really like the black (textured) tape I used on the Crucianelli. In fact, of the 5 other accordions we own (our button accordions) 4 came from the factory with such black textured tape. Only one (Bugari) has plain black tape. (The other Bugari we have has the textured tape.)

So 'textured' is the same as that tape on the CGM web page ?

I'm fixing a Scandalli bellows with a red finish, so possibly looking very much like that Crucianelli bellows when I've finished.

The tape is almost not "ribbed". The texture you see is very superficial and is much more of a visual effect than ribbed (which you would feel more). It is very nice looking tape. (I got mine from Carini, not CGM). The tape comes in different widths. For a nice looking result you should use tape that is just a little bit wider than the old tape on the accordion. Any "blemishes" where the edge of the old tape was will be covered by the wider new tape then.
