I'm sorry to say that Yves Le Blanc, the fine Breton musician, dance teacher and all round decent man has passed away after a courageous fight with cancer.  He might not have been all that well known in the chromatic/piano accordion world, but he was a fine clarinet, diato player an excellent and inspiring teacher. In the world of the Breton Fest Noz he was a giant.

I'm proud  to play "Aeroplane de St Peran*" at Bal Folk and to have a good friend teach the associated dance he devised on a visit to Cornwall several years ago.

*St Peran is the patron saint of Cornwall and "Aeroplanes" are a group of dances from northern Brittany.

I am saddened beyond words.

I'm sorry, Ian.  Peace.

The late Bernard Loffet and Yves Le Blanc.

They were both inspiring and entertaining performers, excellent musicians and splendid teachers. Yves Le Blancs music sounds good on the bassoon read on a a PA.
