nice vid on you tube of Rebeka Venters playing Shetland waltzes on a 120 bass excelsior piano box with full Scottish Musette. Also of her playing other tunes

Rebeka.... welcome from a very very early beginner with a 96 . George, you like your Scottish stuff and why not. I grew up with it many moons ago and it is with you all your life. Well it is to me. A good recording. R...Are you from Shetland ? Going away to watch/listen to it a]gain. Best wishes to all.

No, I'm a Fifer :) Definitely need to get to Shetland for a session though! Is it Scottish that you two play?

I'm primarily a 3 row man and a disciple of the man from Muchty!

I do like the old SDB stuff :)

I'm attempting to play the 3 row, it's frustrating knowing exactly what I should be playing, but my fingers aren't quite up to it yet! Enjoying it though :)

There is something very satisfying about playing with just a few inches of bellows much of the time

When you grew up in the 50's (as I did) you couldn't help but pick up a huge repertoire (in your head) of tunes. Not necessarily know the name etc but they stuck with you. There were so many good top bands around and off course players. So, yes home stuff. I think I picked up on another thread that you did your first exam when 5. I think I was still doing 'the cat sat on the mat' at that age.

I remember being told that the birds in Fife fly backwards so that you don't know where that are going. I would say that off course as I live across the water.
A good forum with lots of kind decent people. I am most impressed by your tube renderings.

Best wishes to all.
