Hi folks.
I have a lovely Hohner Corso Diatonic melodeon which is almost nearly sweet in its wet tuning but there are just a few notes that are " off beat"???
I would like a very experienced accordion doctor to sort this for me.
What worries me is that my ear may differ from the repairers ear and I do not want him/ her to make it worse or ruin what is already good.
It is just a fine tune.
Bellows are good and tight.
Valves all 100%.
Bellows test holding upright no keys pressed...all good.
It just needs tweeking here and there.
I live in Australia so it makes sense postal wise to keep regional.
I f I have to send to Alodi Accordions in London then heck...that's what I will do.
So who's good at this game?
I have a critical ear so they have to be good!!!
Cheers
Pete

Good luck Pete, thou seeketh the Holy Grail. The only tradesman (person) more rare is that guy (gal) that can diagnose the electrical problem in your vehicle.

Seems like I have asked an impossible question.
Did not mean to do that.
I suppose it may be unfair to all the gifted people who know what they are doing.
It's the ones that ( think) they know that I would rather avoid.
I plumb for someone who " KNOWS" that he knows!!!
So where and who is he?

You're right, Pete. And there are gifted people out there who know what they are doing. Some of whom graciously provide info here on the forum. It's a question of finding the one(s) in your area. I don't know anything about accordion tuning and repair in Australia, but if I were to seek such help in the upper midwest (USA) I would go to either World of Accordions in Superior, WI or Romagnoli in Chicago.

If you're in Melbourne, then Peter Anderson would be the man to speak to. He has many years of experience in accordion repairing and tuning. He's in the Accordion Repairers group on Facebook and is recommended on the Accordion Revival website. He recently re-tuned my Morino and did a great job!
