And it's a klezmer tune; a dance-speed version of a "nign", which is a wordless prayer-song from the Hasidic Jews of Eastern Europe, speeded up to become a dance. But not as fast a dance as that duo plays it. Meron is a place now in Israel which (for reasons going back 2000 years or more) is associated with a somewhat mysterious fire festival that particularly features on the Hasidic calendar. I would guess that this tune is used at that event. (Fire festivals feature all over the Middle East under the stewardship of several different religions, and my guess is that this one predates Abraham by a long way, despite what most Jews believe about it).
I can't find a YouTube of that tune that I actually like. Di Naye Kapelye did it, and theirs will probably be good, but I can't view their video from the UK.
Its sincerely nice that you went through all that work to help answer someone's question, and it used to irk me when I did the same on other sites that I am a member of, but I realized my attitude was wrong. I don't post anymore with expectations of acknowledgement or thanks. We don't know what this other person's life is like, they just simply may be busy or unable to visit or in the middle of a personal crisis... and here we are a bit incensed that they cannot at least post a 1 word acknowlegement.
Patience friend, and if no thanks comes along, just move on to the next thread and continue using the forum.
