Uh oh

Eddy,
I'm frequently surprised at how many people place appearance before performance, when one might imagine performance should trump appearance every time!

My Tiger is glued back together, thanks to master woodworker Jeff Miller ( whose talents were wasted on a mere glue job as you can see from the photos of his Real 75D2EF30-B02C-424F-8D47-11B743FA13B4.jpeg1AC611D9-E0B7-4838-9775-43188D841287.jpegwork.) He was happy to do it, but not thrilled that I left it as a “Beausage”, per Jeff Jettson’s suggestion.
No bellows leaks, still as rough as ever. Will post sounds in another thread.

The repair is fine. (y) The day is still ahead for the first "uh-oh" moment with either of my accordions. Whenever "beausage" work becomes necessary for mine, with results like what Jeff Miller did for the Tiger, I'd be content. Sorry that he is disappointed.... ~Bob

After he heard the story he was happy and said, "Yeah. Just leave it like Willy Nelson's guitar." Exactly.

Hey Eddy, how do the fish react to the colors? ??

Great repair! Even the celluloid doesn't look too bad. The problem with these odd colors is that repairers do not have celluloid in stock of that particular color. Around here most of the people I know have black accordions and I do have a bit of black celluloid to work with, but if people drop a red or blue accordion... they will need to go to a different tech unless they let me reuse a bit of celluloid from their accordion, from a spot an audience rarely gets to see (like the back, under the bellows protector).

It’s wood and metal, Paul. No celluloid. Should be pretty easy to redo if I get crazy.

The Tiger models even with Titano badges were made by Crucianelli (Pancordion) and had a sprayed on lacquer paint. If you visit an auto body shop
that mixes their own paints or take the box to a auto supply that can scan your color and provide you with a match.

So what is the "finish" on the outside of the wood? Is that some kind of paint then, if it isn't a layer of celluloid?
Jim answered, but from what I’ve read, Faith Deffner decided they should use the colors of Fiat’s very popular sports cars, so it may even be automotive paint.
