Mario Muschi came up for me as a featured post today. This tune is on my “to do” list, and what an inspiring version (if you like this kind of Roland thing). Hope you like it!

Well, acoustic is more my thing, but it's lovely playing. This is one of my favorites to play, and I have the sheet music with the bold title at the top slid under the clear plastic on the cover of a 3-ring notebook that contains a bunch of favorite repertoire. Just seeing that on the cover when I grab that notebook makes me smile.

That’s cool, thanks Ouiga! I started learning it yesterday, I like it. I’ve arranged it as a one page lead sheet in Cm. It’s an unusual key for me so good practice, jumping back and forth to the Ab. I’d be curious to know what are in your “bunch of favorite repertoire”…..

It's a Palmer-Hughes classic introduced to generations of budding accordionists, a beloved Neapolitan song/valzer dating from near the turn of the previous century. The P-H arrangement is in d minor, and it's also arranged in d minor in one of my accordion treasures, the "Kammen International Dance Folio No. 9." A copy of the first page of the Kammen International version is what adorns my notebook cover. I think I saw a c minor one at Google Images, will have to try it!

The Kammen Folios arranged for accordion as well as the ones arranged for piano are treasures for accordion repertoire if you love dance-based world music--Italian, Romanian gypsy, Russian, Ukrainian, klezmer, United States, and more. Also some songs.

I have a copy of Folio No. 9 with accordion arrangements and a copy of Folio No. 1 with piano arrangements. Beware, some editions are for eb sax and it's not always clear from first glance at the cover.

They're out of print but usually findable on the 'bay at normal prices as opposed to the ridiculous "rarity" prices some try to get away with. Well, well-- I see Boosey & Hawkes listing one . . . hmmm.could they be back in print?
