Todays project - Weltmeister bass mechanism fell out.

Well I always seem to find myself in interesting situations. Today my teacher handed me a weltmeister that was shipped improperly and when arrived all the bass buttons were down. So he took it apart and the chord mechanism fell out.

He could not figure out how to get it back together, so he handed it to me to look at. (he has done this a few times, I actually am getting quite good at figuring out bass mechanisms...)

So this is what I am looking at. Any suggestions other than take your time and it will go back together?

Also any history on this one? (my guess is 40s based on the keyboard, but what say the experts)

Well the solution took a minute to figure out, but for anyone else that runs into this here is the solution.

Masking tape (or painters tape)

Tape them into rows (M, Min,7th) with long strips of tape and then they will go back in much easier.
Make sure to use some lightly sticky tape so you can pull it out when they are in place.

Brilliant, you could also use strips of card stock, and tape it to the first and last button of each row, might slide out easier.

It's not really important but my guess would be little later, prob 50s for year.
