It is a musical comedy and satire based loosely on Weird Al's life. Entertaining, but not an accurate biopic.

Thanks SteveBox. I think I got my 'yankovics' mixed up. I skimmed through the film but it seemed fairly lightweight.

Yes, Weird Al != Frankie. Not related, but they did meet and get to know each other. Each are great musicians in their own different way.

I thought it was hilarious. Sort of a send-up of musical bio-pics, along the lines of "Walk Hard".

Not meant to be accurate though. Al did start playing accordion because of a door-to-door salesman, and Dr. Demento did play a key role in his success, etc. But obviously some wild liberties were taken, which is part of the humor.
