I've noticed a couple of thin superficial cracks in a part of celluloid cover... So is it a case of "a stitch in time saves nine" and I lightly fuse with super glue ...or do I just leave alone and pay it as little attention as the wrinkles that have also appeared with time on my face......

If it's plain black celluloid then a true fix is quite possible (as black celluloid is something most accordion repairers have in stock) but if it's another color you can try a partial fix. Instead of super glue a delicate application of acetone is the first step. You can apply a bit of acetone with a q-tip. The acetone softens the celluloid (and dissolves it completely if you overdo it) so you can gently press it together to make the crack disappear. The celluloid can be lightly sanded if needed. The result will be a bit dull, but you can recover the shine by polishing the surface.

Finally mustered up the courage to try repair ..
Fantastic....ok not seamless but certainly won't run the risk of catching it in the future and making worse ..polished up well with some dry denim and a whisper of slate cleaner
Thank you @debra ...wisdom greatly appreciated
