While I am familiar with the Counterbass notes being underlined, I'm confused by my Hohner Standard Bass Chart. In both the Fundamental and Counterbass rows, all the keys on the chart are underlined EXCEPT C and D. It doesn't matter if the C and D are # or b (sharp or flat), they are NOT underlined but all the other keys are. In the other 4 rows (Major Chord, Minor Chord, 7 Chord, and Diminished Chord) no keys are underlined. I'm just referring to the standard bass chart for the 120 key accordion, not the notes that are played from the music sheet. Can't find anything online showing this. I could ask Hohner but thought someone here might know why both rows show underlined notes except the C and D notes in the two rows.

I just googled "Hohner Standard Bass Chart" and did find a couple of Stradella charts with the underlined buttons, including your Hohner one. I wouldn't mind knowing what this is about, both charts that I've used haven't had this feature.

BobM: Today, I received an Email from HohnerUSA's Service Manager (with whom I've worked before). He told me after checking with his technicians that they are likely something called sub-contra that was not part of the original bass chart. He said he would try to have them changed and I should just ignore them. I haven't seen the Fundamental row underlined anywhere else. Thought I was missing something.

Glad that you sorted that out. I gave the chart 10 mins of intensive staring and couldn't find any patterns of any use, I would have been annoyed had there been a trick that I was missing..
