So playing last night I get distracted by the fact that the G7 cord on the bass sounds different pulling than pushing.
Being a tinkerer I took it apart and found a couple of reads that do not appear to have any dust or dirt blocking them, but they will not sound none the less.
After putting it back together I found that they will sound if I pull slowly, but not if I "surprise" them.

Any suggestions as to how to free them up?

Thanks
Ben

Hi Fjsys; You have a bass reed that has the tongue bent to far away from the reed plate. Go to the Accordion Revival web site and find the subject "Voicing Reeds" this will explain the problem with this suborn reed. JIM D.

Thanks Jim.

I read through the article and it seems to be a bit above my skill level, so I guess I will have to live with it for a while.
