Hi all

How should be the sound and reed quality of this small Champion Cassotto compared to the large Artist :

https://www.finn.no/bap/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=84595335

And what about the size differences. I`m preparing to buy an Artist, agreed on a price and all, but have 2nd thoughts only because of the size, maybe I should compromise for the smaller one (because of the size only) ?

The number of registers on this accordion suggests it is only a 3 reed instrument.
There is no instrument like it in the current line-up. The 470/CHC comes closest but is a 4 reed instrument. It has 42 notes in the RH but the range should be Mi-LA# which is 43 notes... so what is it? In any case a 4 reed cassotto instrument has 11 registers, the one linked to has too few registers to be a 4 reed instrument. So it is much more limited in versatility than the artist cassotto you were looking into before.

Thanks Paul
It`s for sure e Voice, and so stated 3 korig like 3 Chorus.

So just by being 3 voices, it makes the sound less rich ?
Even if the reeds are very good ? Because it`s still a champion and even has cassotto

I`m waiting for the seller of the Artist to give me a final word, and meanwhile exploring other options.
The Artist sound is really amazing, wondering if there`s anything smaller which can compare to it

The sound should be still good (not Artist-Cassotto, but Champion-Cassotto is still good) but it is probably LMM so you miss the H reed and thus all the sound variations that use an H reed, most notably mh but also LH and LMH... and you would be missing notes as the smaller box does not have the 46 notes of the Artist Cassotto.

Everything is a compromise...

Personally I do not find a 4-reed Artist Cassotto to be large or heavy. The bass side is really light (compared to any box of any size that has a convertor) and the keyboard side is just fine. Compared to my Morino Artiste or AKKO bayan the Artist-Cassotto is a featherweight...
