OpenRealb: free alternative to iReal for chord charts

Hi everyone!

For a while now, I’ve wanted to combine my two passions: coding and music. That’s why I created something I’d like to share with you. It’s called OpenRealB – a very simple website for viewing chord charts: https://www.openrealb.com

I built it myself, and the idea is to always keep chord charts freely accessible. You’ll also find tabs, be able to transpose chords, and explore charts in many musical styles.

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear your feedback to help improve the content, design, and features. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy it!

To let you know, the link to the website in your post did not work. I just typed in openrealb.com to get there.

It seems to work well, and I applaud your hard work. I suppose over time you will add lots more songs. I jumped on and tried Asa Branca, the only forró tune you have so far. The chords are a little “different” than I play, but I know there are a million versions to every song, so no prob.

If I could offer a bit of constructive advice….

I would recommend you add some “Go” or “Ok” buttons. For example, when you transpose, you have to hit the “X” symbol to get back. Likewise, when you select a genre, you have to hit the “magnifying glass” symbol to get back. It may make it more intuitive for people if there were an “Ok” button on these forms.

(Of course the notes and lyrics would be super fine, but I get it…).

All in all, this is great, and thanks for the heads up on this website!

A major update of openrealb.com has just been released. Here are the main improvements:

- Videos related to chord charts have been added throughout the library (both songs and backing tracks).
- You can now suggest the addition of a song, a composer, or other content.
- A reporting feature lets you easily flag errors.
- The search engine has been improved.
- The interface and navigation have also been enhanced for a better overall experience.

Feel free to report issues or request songs - it helps me know where to focus my efforts.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. Yeah, well unfortunately there is an error in the link and I cannot edit the post now :/.
I'll implement this Go / Ok symbol, this is a good advice.

Hello everyone!

I'm excited to announce a new update on the site:

- You can now print sheet music directly from the platform.
- You can also change the display font, with three Finale fonts to choose from.
- The sheet music navigation and interface have been improved for clearer, smoother reading and better rendering across different devices.

Looking ahead, I'll be focusing the month of May on improving the display and developing the first version of an editor, allowing you to input your own sheet music directly online.

I'm also working on a little "spring cleaning" of the sheet music database (deduplicating composers, enriching sheet music with videos, etc.), which I'll complete before importing new sheets.

Feel free to share any feedback, it really helps shape the project!
