Busking with the grille removed looks a bit dangerous to me. (You never know who or what is going to attack you.)
I have seen outstanding accordion (and bayan) players on the street or in parks, in many (European) countries. Sadly there are also some "glorified beggars" too who barely know enough to have the treble keyboard on the right(hand) side.
