Great sound from the Oxford3 Guerrini for Scottish (and French & Irish).

1. Kenmures on and awa 2. Muckin o geordies byre 3. Edmund MacKenzie of Plockton 4. Atholl Highlanders

I wouldnt mind having a crack at this medley for some of the traditional types in the family. Anyone know where I could get the four dot sheets?

All can be found on the Session - but use Kenmure’s Up And Awa’ to search, not as posted.

PS It IS my cup of tea.....

Thanks TW. Looks an interesting resource

I have this book. The editing of the songs is well done with some interesting notes at the beginning describing some chord structures.
It is not a beginners book by any means and some of the pieces are pretty fast if played well.

1. would most of this thread be better placed under British Folk Music sub forum

2. The tunes quoted are well worth having a go at

3. for those who prefer to buy books of dots rather than download I strongly recommend the 4 book series of Ceilidh Collections 1 -2 -3 & 4 which contain nice arrangements of similar tunes .

4. I have only just 'found ' this interesting thread - could that be because it was not in the place I would have expected it to be?

Both Kenmure's Up & Awa' and The Muckin' o' Geordie's Byre are in "First Ceilidh Collection" available from Skye Music Shop 01478 611980. I have no connection with this shop but have found them very helpful.

Hi George - Thanks for the info. I posted it in I like that... cos I liked it. The error I made was adding as an after thought that whilst its not really my bag I wouldnt mind having a crack at it. And admittedly itd get more people in the knows attention in Folk. :)
