Hi all! I just got my first accordion today and I know zero about them. I’m an actor and I was doing a community theatre production and I was informed 12 days before opening that I would be playing the accordion while singing a solo. Twelve days was unfortunately not enough time for me learn the song and it was cut from the show. I fell in love with it anyway.
The theatre had rented the accordion from a music store in Birmingham, Alabama and when it was being returned by the stage manager she asked how much they would sell it for and then called me. It seemed like a shockingly low price and I bought it right away.
It was made in Italy by Scandalli and has “Ronnie” on it. I can only guess that’s the name of the original owner even though it kind of looks like it came that way. I can’t seem to find any Scandalli Ronnie accordions anywhere! The only other markings say M 267/47 Made in Italy.
I’m ordering some books so I can teach myself to play and I can’t wait to get started!
