Well I finally picked up an accordion that I have been after for a while. I know we've posted about it before, but I figured Id share my excitement with everyone. Its a sonola Ernie Felice mode, ss4.l And the sound is sweet! I have to agree its one of the nicest sounding accordions Ive heard, and it is light as a feather to boot. It was an ebay buy so iwas a little nervous, but the price was right and I was able to pick it up in person so I pulled the trigger. Great condition, all original and nice chrome even. I couldn't be happier!!

Great.. hope you have many happy hours with your new accordion.

Lovely instrument, well done you, Nagant.
How many is that now...? :?

O,K. How about a pic'.
As you know, I'd love to work on this if you need.

Ok. I will take a picture tonight and post. Looks real nice and plays nice The keyboards on these older sonolas are so smooth.
I hate to say, but I seem to have quite a few accordions now. It's like they multiply. Each one has their own sound and character. I picked up a shelving unit a few weeks back to organize things, and it filled right up!
Yes Jim I will give you a call on a couple of projects. We can get a day planned in the future again. I always enjoy visiting, and you do great work. This one doesn't need much though!

Congrats!

I've always thought those Ernie Felice Sonolas sounded great and have thought about getting one myself one day. Seems like you got yourself a good one!

Thanks jeff! Yeah I've always heard good about felice sonolas, and Ill tell you the accordion does not disappoint. What I never realized is just how light it is. I can stand no problem, and its so easy to control. I think the reeds are very responsive, so you can really play with different dynamics, and a super "singing" tone quality. As I have posted I have "a few" accordions(probably too many) and right now all I have been playing is this. Its gonna feel real strange when I pick a full 4 reed accordion again.

here are some pix I took last night with the sonola on the couch. Its really a great instrument. I will take some inside ones when I get inside it.

Anyone know the years these were made?

Sonola Felice 3, & 5 & 6 shift models (2 or 3 reed) all with 2 sets in tone chamber, were made in the early 60s thru 1973 when the Brand was acquired by Guerrini.
You have the 2 reed (LM ) Ernie had the 3 reed (LMH) but only using L or M at one time in tone chamber. (The reason for making a 3 shift model.) He uses the M set here ---
