Hi everyone, just joined the forums recently and thought Id say hi. Our family was given an old Imperial 12 bass accordion a few years ago, and I started playing around on it earlier this year. Many years of piano practise and lots of youtube videos are helping me as I work through a basic beginners song book. Not sure on my plans when I get to the end of it - definitely thinking at the moment it would be nice to have more bass buttons but a new accordion might have to wait a while. The accordion plays pretty well although the low E makes a rasping sound when played while closing the bellows, but its not too noticeable (with all my other mistakes I hardly hear it!)

Really enjoying reading the threads here, some great advice which Im finding really useful.

David

nice travelers accordion! good luck with it

rasping sound (metal on metal?) could be a loose reed tongue, if you can take the treble side apart from the bellows you might spot it

Welcome David!
