Hi all,

First of all, thanks for letting me join!

Ive been playing piano for about four years now and I now have three full sized accordions -

- 1960s Americana (by Excelsior), 120 bass, LMH
- 1960s Super Amati Handel, 140 bass, LMMMH
- 1930s Scandalli Scott Wood Three, 120 bass, LMM

I am in the process of rebuilding the Scott Wood; Ill start a new thread on my progress with that soon.

Hello BP,

I hope you find this forum usefull and friendly.

There are a few here who have older accordions, perhaps enough to want to create a 'collector's corner' ? I have several 1920's models and play regularly on a 1931 ( Cooperativa Armoniche), my current newest accordion was made in Paris in 1949 by Buzzi Frères. So, I for one will be interested to see your progress on restoration of the Scandali.

I'm in Perth, WA.

I've been playing piano from a young age; also, I play the saxophone, pipe organ and harmonium. I do have an accordion teacher, Nunzio, (can't recall his last name at present). Recently he has been playing with Hank Marvin in a gypsy jazz group here in WA.

I've learnt through the Palmer-Hughes series books, Anzaghi method and also from 'Modern Technique for the Accordion' by Frank Gaviani.

older boxes in good condition are fine! My personal favourite box is my 1960's hohner gaelic which has been well looked after and expertly serviced throughout its life and is still as good ass if not better than new!
