Somehow I missed seeing this plaintive query the first time around. This Venezuelan waltz is the first tune I learned on CBA. Funnily enough I encountered it first in Ireland--it's made its way into the trad repertoire over there, and has been recorded by a few of the Irish players, including Kevin Burke and the awesome B/C button player John Redmond. I believe I first heard the wonderful B/C button accordion player Josephine Marsh playing it in a pub sesh in Ennis. I think it's in currency in the contradance scene as well.
