Can anyone tell me how one can accomplish a minor 251 on a five row stradella?
To play C half diminished, F altered, B-flat minor, I can see that you pair the C root with an E flat minor. That doesn’t seem too difficult. ( or is it?) But the only way to build an altered cord of any sort on a dominant is to pair the root with the Tritone minor of its V. So to get an F altered 7, you need to pair an F bass with an F#minor which doesn’t seem doable.
I can’t believe that five row players simply don’t have a way to play minor ii V i progressions.
What am I missing here?
The reason I’m frustrated is that Thierry Benetoux it’s about to build me an instrument, and I have probably switched back-and-forth between requesting 4 row free bass and 5 row Stradella half a dozen times because of this issue and I really need to make the right choice.
