This is my first post here and I would like to thank the knowledgable and skillfull people that contribute to this forum as I have learned a lot from reading the posts. This 96 Bass beauty, whose picture I hopefully posted right, is what I am very interested in purchasing to say the least. I have been doing some homework on it before I go to inspect and test it out and have been wondering if Marotta produced various 96 bass models. I had the opportunity to play around with a 96 bass Hohner and it has a couple more treble keys and switches.
after reading the past posts here on the Marotta, i am thinking I may have run into a real keeper. This one is supposed to be light weight and in excellent condition.

Hi Mike; warm welcome to the forum, nice to read we're appreciated that way, thanks. It looks really nice, pearl keys are a nice feature, and I like a dashing red. Not sure which you think had more keys - but Hohner 96s have 37 keys, too. I can't clearly see the register switches on this, so not sure whether it's a two reed set and maybe the Hohner was a 3, therefore the Hohner would have had more treble switches?

<ATTACHMENT filename=image.jpg index=0>Thanks Soulsaver. It definitely has 5 treble register switches in this photo. maybe I could be wrong in my old age and forgot on number of Hohner keys as it has been I while since played it. I dont think the Marotta has only two reed banks as that is what I think my little 48 bass has and their is no similarity in the sound quality.
This clip is of the same model as the Marotta . This tone really gets to me so I dont think I would be able to walk away from it regardless of what I may find wrong with it. The red is not my preference in colours and does not bother me a bit.

It's what is on the switches I can't see. The one in the link is a 3 voice - 3 reed sets on the treble.

Thought i should mention that the story of me reaching a happy ending with this accordion did not occur because it got sold before I could get over to get it. I was trying to find out as much about it as I could as it is a day trip there and back. I know now; "Those who hesitate are lost"
I am over mourning the loss too as I found that the cure is to get back in the market and try an sort of duplicate another. Telling me this model is a three voice will be a big help.

But on this one is (L) (M) (LM) (L) (M ) a 2 reed box.
