Borsini once made very lightweight convertors for starters, 4,3 kg and 5 kg.

The advantage is you have both SB and FB in one instrument for the same price.

There is a nice pigini small free base for sale in a uk shop. An old model but appears in good nic price seems reasonable no chin couplers but not needed snyway.
3 voice stradellla and freebase some of the small piginis are vgood as i observed a model 47 or somenomlacature like that recently.
Was impressed.

I am not convinced about the concept of a free base unit only as i think stradella pluss free base gives u full performance ability.
