On the right hand you either have the keys/buttons depeessed or not.
What about the LH?
I sometimes get the feeling that with LH it matters hpw deep you depress the buttons. Is this true? I guess it is not something we use when playing.

Yes and no... You should depress the buttons (or keys) completely on both the RH and the LR. But... the mechanism that translates a bass button press to a pallet (or set of pallets) opening is quite complicated and not always well-adjusted. If the bass mechanism is adjusted well and you slowly press a chord button all 3 notes of the chord should start playing simultaneously. If one note starts late or perhaps even two notes start late then the mechanism needs adjustment.
