Hi Bill I cant tell you much about this particular model, partly because she doesn't say what model it is. Have you asked what the emblem says below the bellows? Castelfidardo?

Clearly its a 3 voice, looks from the (poor) pics to be in pretty good condition which in my mind casts doubt about some of the story about it's travels abroad- plus the case also looks in good nick.

Then the other thing that doesn't make much sense to me is it says 'found' in the title, then something about it being given to her sister, then something found under a load of sheet music under the mother's piano?

I dont know why people need to include such BS - other than 'I dont know much' - means 'If this turns out 'duff' dont blame me'

But I would say that Jonellis are quite popular when they appear on ebay, so I'm guessing they are reasonably well sought after. It's Italian, light enough, and a pretty popular make - but...

I've bought loads of accordions from distance, but this is the kind of write up that I 'pass' on - unless I could go and touch it, smell it, play it. Or if it's very cheap. It isn't going to be the latter even if the bids stop now, so are you close enough to go?

Thanks. I have put a bid in for it, if someone beats my bid I'll let it go.

Why is abbreviation such a long word ?

This one is a 1950's vintage Jonelli and looks like low mileage as the treble keys are still white on this one. Offering more than $200 USD or 133 GBP would be a stretch. JIM D.

I believe Accordions of London sold these made by Fantini I think.Jonelli looks like an anagram of John Leslie the proprieter,he still does sell Jonelli boxes.

So its not John Elly. (joke) I think its more likely to be an Italian name.

Actually I was under the impression it was at £185? Did someone withdraw a bid - Or maybe I'm going senile...again.
It does look like its 'cheap' at £125 at the mo, although cheap to me may not be the same to others. If I was close I'd definitely consider going and giving it a squeeze.
If I was tempted to buy this at distance I'd ask them to confirm everything works as it should, no leaks, that there are no musty smells, that its been stored in normal room conditions - not in a shed, cellar, loft.
If they duck the questions I'd pass.
If the answers all seemed good, I'd bid what I thought it was worth to me less a bit for contingencies.
If I won it and it didn't live up to the question answers I'd insist on them refunding my payment including transport. Or making a partial refund to cover the cost of repairs. If they weren't immediately cooperative I'd open a PayPal item not as described case.

Good Luck, Bill

The bid I put in was £350 to beat a previous bid but its showing £125 and if you are to bid to bid more than £350. I dont think anyone would withdraw their bid if their bid was beaten. If they did withdraw their bid It could be something to do with the increments. I dont understand this at all. It might be a mistake by eBay, I don't know. I have sent the owner an email to see if there is an explanation.

Bill, I think it increments the bid automatically up to your ceiling bid.
Until someone overbids you, it will stay just above the last bid (assuming it's above their reserve or some such thing).

Yes, that's what I thought. But my bid is a lot higher than I would like it. Maybe someone would outbid me at the last minute that would solve the problem. If no one bids then I would get it at a comfortable price.

I dont follow, Bill: When I drill down into the bids there is only one bidder showing at the moment on that item - someone with 850 feedback. Is that you?

If it's not you, you haven't bid on it yet, so you'll be able to place a bid that you are comfortable with.

If you did bid on something inadvertantly... sorry, I may be teaching my gran.. but it will be showing on your My Ebay (top line under the browser address bar, just to right of centre).
Click on it and scroll down to your bids where it will show the status of your bids - whether you winning something or out bid.

Yes the 850 is myself and shows the bid to be at £125 but I dont understand the £350. The owner says its an eBay problem not his. I have retracted the bid as the safest option.

Probably best, sounds a bit iffy (the bid situation).

i wouldnt write this one off yet and would consider it althought know nothing about this model and make

concern would be the obvious 'real condition' which is the one thing missing from description, probably not known

it would appear from the other items for sale that this is part of a house clearance possibly from the passing of a dear family member

i think we need to give them some slack on the description as they probably think they are trying to be helpful but are not pro e bayers (could be family members using one person's e bay account as a selling tool)

if you bid £125 then that means you are in the lead until someone bids more - you can set auto bids up to your max bid - if this was 350 then someone would have to bid more than 350 to outbid - otherwise you would win at the 2nd highest bid plus an increment - check it out on e bay - they have good customer service - even live chat support

the sale ends mon evening - not a particularly busy time on e bay - so may be lucky if little interest

think there will be lots of interest though and possibly would sell for around £200/£300 if a weekend sale

i would consider more than £130

if interested get them to play that tune they know over the phone {}

Yes, Ive still got my eye on it. But being 1950s it might be too much of a gamble. I'm still thinking about it, or I might wait for another 80 bass to come along.
