Sharing this fantastic album - Jazz Accordion Live.
Recorded by various incredible accordion players - each has 1 to 3 tracks. Most of them are not famous, at least not outside of 1960s-1970s Sweden.

One can listen to the full album on Spotify here.

To me this was one of the first jazz accordion albums I heard and therefore and I used to mistakenly assume it was known to most. It's a gem!

Some of the musicians are great players using mostly fast single-note runs (like Lill-Arne Söderberg).
Others paint beautiful full chord progressions (like Sture Synnefors).
Some play only with bassoon as is most common in jazz, others play LM or LMH and it works.

We are lucky to have this album with 17 tracks nowadays, because for decades the only available version was a 9-track LP, with only 1 track per artist:

Liner notes to the expanded 17-track album:

JAZZ ACCORDION "JAMSESSION"

"Jazz on accordion" was a program feature at the "Narren" theater during the "Accordion Festival" at Gröna Lund in Stockholm on September 1-5, 1970. This recording of "Jazz on accordion" was made on Friday the 4th of September in the night between 12:00 p.m. and 03:00 a.m. That was a jam session with some of our best jazz accordion players, who happened to fall in love with the Swedish national instrument and who took on one of the most difficult tasks musicians can ever take: to play good jazz on accordion. Everyone also participated in the big "Festival Orchestra", under my direction on the big stage. "Night session on accordion" was a very popular feature of the festival program. We all chose to make this recording when Gröna Lund threw other activities. It was at the theater "Narren". It was at the main entrance and directly within Gröna Lund's area.

It was packed every night and we had an enthusiastic crowd. We who played were very inspired by the audience's applause and positive "whistles". The accordion players were: Lill-Arne Söderberg, Conny Sahm, Sture Synnefors, Lennart Wärmell (also presenter and leader of the new "Sweden Accordion Jazz Band"), Olle Karlsson, Leppe Thömqvist, Lill-Bength Erixon, Roffe Söderberg. Accompanying musicians: Lars Andersson (bass), Ola Ström (guitar) and Siggo Andersson (drums). The recording was made by (judge technicians: Gösta Konnebäck, Stig Hansson, Göran Glanshed from AV Elektronik Studio in Stockholm. It became an LP on Pyramid Records/TPLP-19. I am very grateful and happy that Kjell Opsal at Norild Records has released this unique recording on CD. Without exaggeration, it is a cultural act. Thank you Kjell!
