Hi everyone. I’m new here and know nothing about accordions but I own one. I know kinda strange.
We were at an Oktoberfest celebration here in Austin Texas and my teenage daughter was loving the accordion being played. My wife said to her “we have one of those in the closet”. I had completely forgotten about it. It was given to me by my mom and it belonged to my great grandfather. He bought it before he died and never played it.
We pulled it out and took a look at it. It seems to play well and it had all the plastic around the leather straps and the padding in the box. We have the original book to teach accordion and a Hohner keychain that came with it that was also in a plastic bag. We don’t know the age but I have had it in the closet for 17 years and this is the first time we have taken it out. I did open the box once and looked at it but it’s been in a deep slumber in our house for years. It looks brand new except for some small rust pitting on the chrome near the right hand keys.
Anyway my daughter is trying to learn it. She has started going through the book that came with it. We don’t know the model or year or even how to determine the key it is in. So any help would be appreciated.
