How to store accordions that are played daily

I'm planning to replace all the leathers on my 1930s Settimio Soprani. Would it be worth retro-fitting booster springs?
Booster springs really are a must on all the larger leathers. And for smaller valves I would simply use plastic valves. Some people don't like them but I do, and they remain stable for much longer than leather.

Thanks Paul :)

I know I'll be accused of swearing in church but, honestly, my several accordions have been lying (in their cases) flat on their backs (one in it's case on it's feet on the bedroom floor) on top of the wardrobes in the bedrooms for 35 to 50+ years without any perceptible harm.
Perhaps I'm simply tone deaf but it's worked fine for me!🙂
I hope you whispered when you swore Dingo 🤣

Now I’ve got my accordion mounted in a playing on my stand, that’s where it’s staying, but with a suitable modesty dust cover!

Today’s practice with all sorts of configurations of disability cushions taught me that I either need a furniture hard foam cushion of 8-9 inches or of 5-8 inches with a layer of memory foam securely stuck on top to give me a kinder 8-9 inch surface to sit on. However IMHO, a tower of foam on top of a dining chair isn’t going to be much more stable than the 3 layers of cushions I play tested with today. As luck would have it, I was practicing ann off-beat piece and my stack of cushions swayed as erratically as my syncopation.

So, I made a decision to get a musician’s chair (with an adjustable head rest that looks like it can adjust to be used as a lumbar support, there’s also a foot rest) from Andertons of Guildford. They were out of stock with an order already in transit to them, so given that the remainder of my loyalty points paid for most of the chair I placed an order which resulted in the picture vanishing from their website. The very same thing happened when I ordered my 8x. As soon as it arrives, I’ll post a picture and report how I’m getting on with it.

Ah hah! Found him! Rodney is the guy I've been looking for all this time. Every time I look at something and it says "Hurry, limited quantities" or something along those lines, and I go back that night to order it, it's gone!

Of course, I did the same thing with my FR-8X battery I ordered from Petosa around 6 months ago. I purchased it and immediately noticed the OUT OF STOCK disclaimer on their web page!

What I want to say is that for daily use, the most important thing about a backpack is that it is durable and lightweight. I have been using this EVA accordion backpack, which has adjustable straps and is very lightweight. It is very suitable for performances and rehearsals.
