hello everyone I was wondering if anyone can help me understand how to measure the bellows the proper way. do I need to measure the wood fitting or the overall bellows.

thank you all for all you're input and help

Brian

do we measure it from the bellows or the wooden part that fits in? thank you

You need to match the corner curve, and the fold depth in mm, and the outside rectangular dimension. You are not replacing the wood frame.
You could actually place the body of the accordion on a large piece of paper, and draw a line around it, and measure the length and width in millimeters. The bellows with coincide with the outline of the casing. Remember the fold depth. Put a card down into the folds and draw a line on it. All measurements are metric.
