Hello folks,

today, I have a question related to a song that I first heard on youtube and in an Oktoberfest (so I assume is German), but I can't fin its name.

Can you all please help me identify it?

I have a hard time identifying its chords on the bass as well.

Thank you for your attention,

Jaime

Seems like he's just "noodling around," playing arpeggios, small scales, etc.

I believe the riff that starts around 30 seconds is the Schuhplattler song. Here's one example. It winds up getting quoted a lot in other songs.

Not totally sure what the rest of what he's playing is.

Edited to add: Oh wait... I've played that first bit before. I think it's "Mühlviertel Waltzer". Here's a lead sheet I put together many years ago:

I think it is called Der Watschentanz. Its a landler. Seems like there is some other song mixed in there with it. Not sure as I only have the first page of it in my stack of music. Don't know where the second page wandered off to if there was a second page? The Reit im Winkl subtitle is actually the name of the dance done to the music and is named after the town that it came from - so I was told.

This is a very typical flow copied in many songs. The style is called a "Landler". I have some original notation that has this selection perfectly, it's called "Landler - Gaudi". Back in the day, I would play this song where a group of gents would dance and slap their leiderhosen and shoes in a traditional dance pattern.

Yes it is pretty much the same tune as posted as dileko, except his is oddly renamed incorrectly and in French... and its not originally named "Tyrolean Birthday"

Thank you for your reply and feedback.

It's been months since I wanted to learn this song but I couldn't find its sheet music. I could try by ear but I haven't developed good ear skills yet.

He's just changing between C major and G major in the bass. (I don't think he's playing the G as a G7 as in my lead sheet.)

Thank you. I guess it's easier to just do that while you are standing so your left hand doesn't stress itself too much.

Nope, it's really a song. I recognize the melody but I just cannot remember the name...

It happened the same to me. I heard it in an octoberfest but I forgot to ask the gentleman for the name of the song.

Ah, but trying to figure out a song by ear even though you haven't developed good ear skills is precisely how you develop good ear skills! (y)🎵
The problem was that even if he was a master, let's be a bit honest, the guy playing it in the video was kind of butchering the song... lol
