FR1-XB to FR3X-B - upgrade or indulgence?

Some obvious pluses: more range both sides, better amp.
But what else would I get for my money - better sampling?
And could someone remind me whether the FR3-X is due for an update?

Your best answers on the 1x verses the 3x can be found by going to utube and listening to the recordings done on each. The 3x was supposed to be replaced with an upgrade in 2014. I'm sure the new replacement will be delayed as Roland is moving their Italian plants to another location in March. If there is any new updates or models, they will be shown at this Months NAMM show in California that starts this weekend. As far as utube spots Richard Noel's recordings and demo's are the best.
