FR-1xb plays note without pushing a button after switch on

Hello everyone,
I received my Roland fr-1xb some days ago. When I switch it on and start moving the bellows it immediately starts playing a note without me pushing any button. On most occasions a c4, sometimes a f#3, e.g. after I just placed the batteries. When I push the corresponding buttons on row 4 the sound stops and the accordion works fine as far as I can tell. Is this normal behaviour? A reset didn't change anything. Thank you for your thoughts on this.

Thanks for your reply. Does this look like something that can be easily solved or should I better return the accordion?

You can ask the dealer or Roland if this has an easy fix.

My experience is that I bought an FR-1xb last December, which came with an obvious defect in the bellows pressure sensor. This tells me a new out-of-the-box instrument can have defects. One can question the quality control at the factory. However, it worked well enough that I could evaluate it for the 30 day return period. I eventually decided I did not like it all that much, so I returned it without asking for a replacement.

Not normal sounds like a stuck contact or calibration issue. Try cleaning the contacts or checking for firmware updates. If it persists, contact Roland support. Shouldn’t play notes on its own.

The firmware is the newest version. The troubleshooting section of the manual suggests to do a recalibration of the bellows. This I did, but to no avail. I will return the instrument and ask for a replacement. Fingers crossed that a new one doesn't have issues. Thank you all for your help.
