Anderton's have always been very fair and knowledgeable.

For myself however the discounter of choice, particularly for Rolands, is Gear4Music. I have found them trustworthy and fair over the years with an unbeatable returns policy...

Always interested in what others favour of course?

Hi Jerry,
They are one of the biggest distributors of electric guitars and keyboards in the UK, and it seems they are now stocking Rolands in greater numbers than they once did. They dont sell acoustic accordions, so are not an accordion shop in the traditional sense. Theyve been around since 1964, so there are no worries regarding trustworthiness etc. 
Only thing Id say is if youre thinking of placing an online order, it is probably best to telephone the shop just to double check they actually have the item in stock. 
I got caught out that way some years ago with a guitar. The instrument was listed on their site as being in stock, so I placed an order using a credit card, and gave them my contact details. The next day, or the day after that, I got an e-mail saying the guitar was no longer in stock, and would I consider an alternative, or wait for several months until the next consignment arrived? I got a no quibble refund, but just wish they had updated their website to show they were out of stock. 
Perhaps my experience wasnt typical, but Id definitely phone them first. 
As has already been mentioned there are a few other reliable online UK music stores that sell Rolands, but the rest of them arent anywhere near Guildford.

They do have a registered business address in the UK, but they are actually based in The Netherlands, and like to tell us they are a viable alternative to Thomann, the large German musical instrument distributor. Main difference from Thomann is they dont like returns and people asking for refunds, and take a very long time (typically about 6 weeks) to refund money back into your account. They offer very keen prices (musical instruments are cheaper on mainland Europe compared to UK retail prices), and ultra quick shipping. The downside is their tendency to occasionally ship the wrong item, and thereby expose you to their woeful customer service and returns policy.  
Youll probably have gathered that mail order isnt my favourite pastime, but I wouldnt worry about dealing with Andertons at all. Theyre probably as good as youll find in the UK.

I have bought two Rolands from Anderton's. They had the best price in the UK each time and both online purchases were trouble free with next day delivery.
