Hi

I have had this cordovox accordian knocking around for two years that my cousin gave to me however I have never learnt how to play it. I was just wondering if anyone here knew anything about this specific model. Is it considered good? Is it worth anything? I have found very little in the way of information about the company, apart from 2-3 PDFs online, outlining the history.

The accordian is black with white keys and buttons and has 120 bass keys, I have no idea how to play one but it sounded good.

I am new so sorry if this is the wrong place to ask these kind of questions, I'm just looking for some information!

Thanks :)

Please post a photo so we can actually see what we are talking about.
Would make it easier.

I'm selling one right now. If it has the black background with white bass buttons then it is a Super V. These are the most desired Cordovox accordions. They all were made in Italy and have hand-made reeds. The acoustic accordion properties alone are excellent.

The organ functionality is outdated but a lot of bands play them for nostalgia purposes and like the Leslie sound. If it is in good working condition and was stored correctly it could be worth something.

For what it's worth I've been offered $900 for mine. It's a complete system and I am only the second owner. It's in very good shape.

Hope that helps.

It is customary to post a photo of the accordion, but, the intrinsic value of an accordion lies not so much in how it looks but in what make/model it is and the condition.
Specifically:
- its overall condition
- condition of all the internal mechanics (registers levers, felts, etc...)
- condition of the bellows
- condition of the reeds (in tune or not)

Concerning the electronics
- whether all the parts needed to make it work are available
- whether they all work or not.

Cordovox were one of the first electronic accordions on the market, so they are generally the oldest. They dont have a high resale value and are not in any great demand.

My novice estimate at the value would be that something like a Cordovox Super V in excellent condition might have a value around $700US-$900US based on what I have seen online. Any defects, missing electronics or something that doesnt work and that value falls vast.

I will wait for someone more experienced to also share their opinion.

I couldnt see how to upload images, thanks for the tip.

This is one of the things that I got confused about as all the information I had read about cordovox accordions were that they were electronic however, this one isnt. I had seen images of the Super V and it looked very different.

Thanks again for the help!

This is white with black bass buttons. It is not a Super V.

It appears to have had the electronics removed. I would need to see a head-on shot of the right-hand keyboard, however. This was not uncommon as the acoustic properties of the accordions were very good apart from the organ/electronic sounds. Taking out the electronics reduced the weight and left the musician with a well-balanced nice sounding acoustic instrument.

This is an older model - with electronics removed and in very good condition maybe worth $400. With electronics and in good condition it could go for as much as $500.

Just my opinion. I've been researching Cordovox accordions for quite some time prior to putting mine up for sale.
