Hello all,
Just a question to satisfy my curiosity really.
I have recently acquired a 72 bass, 2 voice, 5 row Giulietti ( a travelling box really) to supplement my 120 bass, 4 voice CBA Giulietti. The new one has two treble registers (clarinet and master) and 62 buttons ( 4 dummy, 35 unique) and set out in the c system. On the back it says P72. I've seen many Giulietti P 72 piano accordions but can't find any reference to a CBA version.
Somebody I know in the trade who sells CBS's, says in 30 years he has never seen one before.
Can anybody shed some light on this great little box.
Edit: I'm not really interested in the value as it's a "keeper".
I can't post photos at the moment (long story!).
As I said, just curious really.
Thanks in advance.

The button box was never popular through the 50's to the present here in the US and most firms had only PA's in their model line. When a customer wanted a quality Giulietti (Zero-Sette) button box it was custom ordered and always of the finest quality. A great find.

So have I AccordionUprising, so it's nice to have finally found my "travel box".
I thought I might have stumbled across a gem Jim D. In the past I've had a small Hohner and a Welty but these were pale imitations of this. I've had it professionally retuned and it sounds wonderful. I've already had offers to buy it but as I said, its a " keeper". Everything about it says " top quality". It'll see me out-search over.

by chance did you score from Hobgoblin for 850 quid, was looking and quite tempted myself... i had a full 120 Guilietti once but had awful wide musette tuning... it's in Australia now but in retrospect i should have kept and retuned....beautifully balanced instrument and real joy to play...apart from the nauseating musette...Enjoy yours...

No I didnt pay anything like that-even with full professional retuning to my specification (of both the treble and bass) the cost was no where near £850 (I actually swapped it for another accordion with no extra cost incurred) . Im afraid to say I wouldnt pay that sort of money for and old accordion, because I would factor in the cost of a full overhaul and retune.
Regarding your other comment, I think weve all moved on accordions and regretted it later ( perhaps this has been the subject of another thread). The mechanism and build quality of Giulietti are first rate in my opinion and I wouldnt want to part with either.
