Does anyone have experience of using Blue Line MIDI. How to select different voices, treble and bass ?. Is there a set procedure to use all accordion MIDI s ?.
Hi Bill; The Blue Line MiDi is not very often found on this side of the pond - but I have worked on a few. These MiDi installations were a basic system that enabled an accordion to transmit midi signals to an external expander that contained the voices. Do you have an expander unit ???
I had an RA50 which I sold to someone on the forum some time ago but I also have a Pianobox2 which is also GM standard and works just as well. I can also plug into my Bentley digital piano also GM. All works OK and the same. What I dont understand is how does one know how to identify what instruments there are. By pressing a button near the air button and a treble button at the same time one gets the various instruments but theres no way of knowing what instruments they are going to be. Except by keep looking at the pianobox2 to see what intrument it is. Its easier to select the instrument on the Pianobox2 which takes longer instead of the accordion which should be immediate. Also the instruments dont really sound original which may be characteristic of MIDI. Theres also a way of changing the bass to be different from the treble but I dont know how that is done. What I am looking for is an instruction sheet or manual that explains it all. I have been onto Bluemidi and they tell me its on line which is all in German and still does not give instructions. It just gives installation and set up as if everyone should already know how to use it. I suppose its a bit like buying a car with the manuals and paperwork but dont tell you how to drive it.
OK Bill; Now I understand your dilemma . I did have a customer some two years ago that brought in a Hohner with the Blue Line unit installed and had some contact issues. Ive found the old paperwork but the cell phone # I found is no longer in use. I also spent a bit of time on a search for a dealer on this side of the pond that installs the unit with no results.
